Pics from Thursday’s Live Event in Houston!

Monday, March 1st, 2010

We had a fantastic turnout for the live event in Houston last night, and I want to thank everyone for attending!

Folks got there early to enjoy the trade show and network with fellow investors. Jim Goodchild spoke on “The near-term and long-term outlook for the Houston and National housing markets” and Brant Phillips revealed his “Lazy Man’s Real Estate Investing System.” Then it was on to more networking with our “speed networking” session!

The feedback was extraordinary! Almost everyone rated the event 5 out of a possible 5 on their evaluation forms. Here’s what some of you had to say:

“These guys are great – very knowledgeable.” — Jaymie

“Doug – You da best” — Dean

“Do it again! It’s motivating to see actual doers in my market” — Antonio

“I had a chance to talk to people who could help in many ways.” — Richard

“Speed Networking was great!” — Ricardo

“So much useful information that I can utilize in my investing!” — Michael

“Educational, informative, and entertaining.” — Terry

We took some pics, and I’m sharing them below. Enjoy! … Can you spot yourself in the crowd?

Again, thanks to everyone who attended, and thanks for all the love. I had just as much fun as you did. Many of you asked me when the next one will be. We’re already planning to have another event like this soon, so stay tuned for the announcement. As long as you guys keep coming, we’ll keep having them!

Until next time, happy (and profitable) investing!

Rocky Falls, Gets Back Up!

Tuesday, January 19th, 2010

Hello fellow investor. Hope you’re having a good week! Just wanted to give you a quick update on my best non-human friend … my dog, Rocky!

Unfortunately, he recently injured his back by being an impatient and overconfident dog. He heard something at the door and suddenly jumped off the bed to check it out instead of letting me put him down on the floor.

I know, I know. Letting him even get into my bed in the first place sounds a little over the top for some of you. But he’s addicted to me emotionally and always begs to get up. And when he gives me that “I need you” look, I can’t help but cave every time!

When he jumped off, he didn’t cry in pain. (He’s far too tough for that.) But I did notice that he wasn’t his usual chipper self from that point on. He would resist going up stairs, and he wasn’t up for his usual walks.

So I took him in to get checked out. As you can see, he wasn’t a big fan of the vet twisting and turning his back every which way…

Rocky ... not a happy camper!

Rocky ... not a happy camper! Boy does he wear his expressions on his face!

But that visit was all for the best. He was diagnosed with a sprained back (common among French Bulldogs) and put on doggie anti-inflammatories which I secretly slipped into his food for the next few days. (I know, sneaky!)

I’m happy to report that he gradually got better and better, and today he is 100% healed! He’s once again his usual self … running in circles, chewing on toys, sniffing, peeing (and then more sniffing and peeing). And he’s even found a new playmate!

Rocky takes

Rocky takes a much-needed break from his playtime with Mr. Pickles, the Pug from next door.

So, as you can see, all is well on the home front again. Well, gotta run. Back to cranking out all of those wholesale deals and motivated seller leads.

Until next time, happy (and profitable) investing!

Tanya Tucker’s Still Got It!

Tuesday, January 12th, 2010

Hey there! Hope you’re doing well.

I recently attended a live concert featuring someone who I think is the greatest female country artist of all time … The one, the only, Tanya Tucker! She came to prominence as a teen country star in the early 70s. Many years have passed, and she’s now 51 … But let me be the first to tell you, SHE’S STILL GOT IT!

She was especially energetic compared to the MUCH older performers I usually see. (I know, I know. I need to start catching them before they hit the nursing home!)

I wish I could share the excitement of being there in person … ON THE FRONT ROW, I might add … but you’ll have to settle for the pics I took and videos I recorded. To view them, just click into the image below, and it’ll take you to the album. The pics are a little blurry because we weren’t allowed to use flash, but they’re still awesome! And the videos are even better because they put the spotlight on her amazing vocal talent. Enjoy!!!

Merry Christmas!!!

Thursday, December 24th, 2009
I hope you’re enjoying your time with your family on this Christmas Eve. I know I sure am! Pics of my “family time” to come later.
But for now, I’d like to share a video that my staff and I created the other day. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did! :-)

A special thanks to the staff who agreed to have their faces pasted on those little elf bodies! And my apologies to the staff who weren’t included since it only allows 5 faces. (And my dog, Rocky, had to be one of those faces, of course!)
As you can tell, we’re having fun with this Christmas holiday. But we’re not through celebrating yet!
To further share our Christmas spirit, we’ve decided to give you 20% off if you upgrade to a Premium membership BEFORE SUNDAY AT MIDNIGHT.
This 20% discount saves you up to $117/year, depending on the level of membership that you choose.
Just use the link below to learn more about Premium and claim the discount…

But that’s not all! …
I’m happy to say that I acquired the “I Buy Houses” marketing materials from 14 of the top investors in the country.
These are letters, postcards, flyers, special reports, yellow page ads, and more that top investors use to get their phone to ring off the hook with desperate sellers while other investors twiddle their thumbs.
But I can’t keep these all to myself. After all, Christmas is all about giving!
So, in addition to the 20% discount, if you upgrade before Sunday at midnight, I’ll also throw in a Christmas stocking that’s stuffed with a CD that contains all of these marketing materials!

see pics in \\fileserver\public\Employees\Doug\Premium Specials\12-24-2009 christmas\pics. the pic of the stocking with the CD inside of it will need to be created.
Once you see these documents, it will be crystal clear why motivated sellers contact these investors before calling anyone else. Take what you see in these materials, and duplicate it with your own marketing!
But don’t delay. Claim your 20% discount and exclusive marketing materials before Sunday at midnight. Else, your Christmas won’t be as merry as it could have been! Just go to now…

Happy Festivus!

Thursday, December 17th, 2009

In case you didn’t know, we’re HUGE Seinfeld fans here at MyHouseDeals. I don’t think there’s an episode I haven’t seen at least five times. And if it weren’t for my sometimes unreliable memory, I’m sure I’d be able to quote just about every line.

My favorite episode was the one with the infamous Soup Nazi, but my second favorite was the one where George’s father reinstated his made-up holiday called “Festivus.” If you’re a die-hard fan like I am, I’m sure you loved it too.

Festivus includes many “traditions,” but the most popular ones would have to be the feat of strengths, airing of grievances, Festivus dinner, Festivus miracles, and who could forget, the Festivus pole!

To learn more about the Festivus story, click on Play below…

So before we celebrate Christmas this year, we’ve decided to celebrate the time-honored traditions of Festivus. And we’re having the time of our lives here at MyHouseDeals as we dive deep into the world of made-up holidays. Click on the image below to watch our celebration video!…

So happy Festivus to you and your loved ones! May your grievances be aired fully and your pole be danced around merrily!

Doug

P.S. Do you have your own Festivus traditions you use to celebrate this most meaningful holiday? Please share them with a comment below and let’s together make this year’s Festivus the best one of all! As a thank you for your comment, we’ll make a donation in your name to “The Human Fund.”

Thank You Mr. Smith!

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

Thank You Mr. Smith! … That’s what the kiddos at Wilson Elementary School said a couple weeks ago when I finished up another semester of teaching a business/economics class.

Feels great to give back and have the kids really appreciate it. You should join me and the other 350,000+ people who volunteer at schools through Junior Achievement.

Believe me when I say that these kids need our help. Schools have classes on just about every subject out there, except for what I believe is the most important … BUSINESS. After all, the “business/capitalism engine” drives this country forward and funds just about everything we do.

So do your part to ensure that tomorrow’s kids are equipped to take the driver’s seat! Get started as a volunteer at www.ja.org.

In the meantime, here are some pics!…

Here's the "Thank You" sketch that I received from the kids. Love it!

Here's the "official" certificate that I received for volunteering. Apparently, I have been given the title of "Mentor Extraordinaire," which I gladly accept! :-)

Since it can be a little weird to bring a camera into the classroom, I do the next best thing. Above, I use my conference room to reenact one of my presentations to the students. Ok, so this isn't an exact reenactment. I made the sketch more exciting just for you. :-) It says ... You + Knowledge + Hard Work = Piles of Money!!

Well, that’s all for now. Hope you enjoyed the posting. Until next time, happy (and profitable) investing!
